Every year our parish of four churches holds weddings including some from those who do not have an immediate connection but can qualify via a different form of license. Holding wedding services is a great joy to the Christian community here and we very much want to encourage this as an act of worship.
The clergy aim to meet with couples a number of times before the wedding to look at the service and ensure that the correct legal requirements are met. This will also to ascertain that a wedding is possible and that a Christian understanding of marriage is understood.
Until this first meeting we cannot confirm a wedding date irrespective of the urgency of booking a venue. If necessary these meetings can be held via Zoom.
